Steven Gerrard will be on our TV screens tonight as his former club Liverpool take on Barnsley. The Reds face the League One side in the penultimate third round fixture of the FA Cup on Monday, with kick-off scheduled for 7.45pm GMT.

At the start of TNT Sports’ coverage of the cup tie, Anfield hero Gerrard will be joined by Joe Cole in conducting the draw for the fourth round , with the remaining 32 teams - potentially including Arne Slot ’s men - finding out who they will face on the weekend commencing Saturday, February 14.

Gerrard will hope Liverpool can avoid an upset, as Crystal Palace and Manchester United both had to endure last week, after three draws on the bounce in the Premier League to start the new year.

Now, Mirror Football brings you an update of everything to do with the legendary former Reds skipper himself, including his net worth, his recent comments about a Liverpool return and next managerial steps.

Gerrard is worth an estimated £75million, according to 888Sports . It is believed he earned around £22.5m over the course of his legendary playing career for Liverpool and MLS side LA Galaxy.

The 45-year-old has since gone on to make a fortune from his managerial career, having reportedly been offered a lucrative £15.2m-a-year salary while managing Al-Ettifaq in the Saudi Pro League . Gerrard was the fourth-highest paid manager in the world behind only Jurgen Klopp , Pep Guardiola and Diego Simeone at the time.

He is said to have waived a further £10m from the second half of his contract by agreeing to leave the club by mutual consent last January. Also contributing to his net worth were several different sponsorship deals throughout his career, including being endorsed by Adidas, Jaguar and Lucozade.

Having left Saudi Arabia, Gerrard has worked as a pundit for TNT Sports in recent months. And he made a comment recently that would leave any Red excited, telling Ally McCoist in an episode of TNT Sports’ Ally’s Social Club that he would be open to returning to Liverpool to work in any capacity. His words suggested he would be happy to work under or alongside Arne Slot, and potentially even succeed him one day.

The 2005 Champions League winner said in December: “I’ll be brutally, brutally honest with you: I’d help Liverpool in any department at any minute of every day. I’d help them with anything. I don’t want the Liverpool manager to lose his job, I want Arne Slot to fix this and turn it around and make Liverpool great.

“I was bouncing all over the city four, five months ago when Liverpool won the league. I’m a Liverpool fan, I want the best for Liverpool. But if Liverpool need me, in any department at any time, I’ll be there for them.”

The last time Gerrard officially worked for Liverpool was as U18s coach for a season-and-a-half between January 2017 and the summer of 2018. He has since appeared for the club in Legends charity matches while also representing the Reds in a commercial role, including as part of last year’s Christmas advertising.

Gerrard has admitted he isn’t desperate to return to management any time soon, only being interested if the “right project comes up”.

The former Reds skipper threw himself into coaching at Liverpool as soon as he retired in November 2016, with senior positions at Rangers, Aston Villa and Saudi following. And he appears happy to bide his time and keep his options open until the next opportunity arises.

He explained: “If that right opportunity, or that feeling that I got when I first bounced into Rangers, doesn’t come then I’m fine. I’m not searching for a job, I’m not down the Job Centre for what’s available. I’m not hoping ‘that one might come available’.
