Revealed: Wolves' stance on teenage star Matues Mane as Premier League clubs line up for youngster amid breakthrough campaign

Wolves are determined to hang on to Mateus Mane this month with the club insisting he is currently not for sale at any price.

The 18-year-old has been the highlight of a grim season for Wolves. He has shone since breaking into the first team and has scored in each of his last two games.

Mane’s rapid emergence, coupled with Wolves’ likely relegation to the Championship at the end of the season, has tempted Premier League clubs to see if they can strike an early deal for the attacker, with Newcastle thought to be among his admirers.

Yet at this stage, Wolves consider Mane off limits. Since given his chance from the start by Rob Edwards, Mane has looked a top prospect whose talent should blossom.

Mane scored the equaliser in the 1-1 draw at Everton on Wednesday after he was also on target when Wolves beat West Ham 3-0 on January 3 - their first league win of the season.

Speaking after the West Ham game, Mane said: ‘I've always thought I'm fearless, I'm not scared of anything and I feel like I deserve to be here.

‘It's always a dream to play in the Premier League and you have to take it.

‘I have to keep working, getting the ball and driving at players, it's what I do.’
