Former Manchester United midfielder Darren Fletcher will be in the dugout on Wednesday for the match against Burnley after Ruben Amorim's sacking . He might not be the only member of his family involved, though, with twin sons Jack and Tyler both pushing for first team minutes.
Both of the youngsters, who turn 19 in March, have made matchday squads this season under Ruben Amorim. Jack has even played his first Premier League minutes, making a late cameo in the defeat against Aston Villa and then featured for 45 minutes against both Newcastle and Wolves , while Tyler was an unused substitute in each of the last three games.
When asked whether either of his sons might get a run out at Turf Moor, Darren said: "That would be disclosing team information before the game and I am not going to do that before the game. They were in the training group on Monday because that was already arranged before I got there.
"They have been in the squad recently but obviously we have got a couple of players back from injury so we will assess that tomorrow and we will have to assess a couple of players tomorrow due to the short turnaround from games. They are in the periphery squad but whether they make the match squad I don't know yet, that remains to be seen."
After the weekend draw at Leeds, and before his Monday dismissal, former manager Amorim indicated captain Bruno Fernandes was closing in on a return from injury. Fletcher confirmed Fernandes and Mason Mount are both in contention to feature on Wednesday but there could still be a chance for the Fletcher twins to build on an already promising start to life at Old Trafford.
Jack and Tyler have spent their youth careers in the same United academy but have gone down different paths at international level. Jack represents the country of his birth, England, while Tyler plays for Scotland , for whom his dad won 80 caps during his own playing career.
In fact, the twins found themselves on opposite sides during the November international break. Jack came off the bench to score his first goal for England Under-19s as they beat a Scotland side captained by his twin brother.

At club level, Jack is slightly ahead of his brother in the road to first-team football. In August, it emerged he was training with the first team ahead of the Premier League opener against Arsenal and he made the bench a handful of times in the Premier League last season under Erik ten Hag, Ruud van Nistelrooy and Amorim.
Tyler's first inclusion in a Premier League squad came more than a year after his twin, in December 2025, but both have featured prominently in United's Under-21s and Under-18s while coming through the ranks. Tyler has featured in all eight of the Under-21s' games in Premier League 2 this term, while Jack played seven.
Both were also regulars as United's youth side reached the semi-finals of the FA Youth Cup in 2025. Jack chipped in with big goals and assists during the run, including the opener in a 3-2 quarter-final win at Arsenal.
Jack has largely offered a greater goal threat than Tyler, scoring six times from midfield in 16 Premier League 2 outings. However, Tyler has been the assist king for the Under-18s, setting up nine goals last season as United's youngsters finished the league season second behind Manchester City .
Regardless of whether the Fletcher twins feature at Burnley, Fletcher has a clear idea of what he wants his line-up to represent. "I hope it represents a Manchester United team with a bit of me," he said in his pre-match press conference.
"What I know is Manchester United so hopefully it resembles a Manchester United team who fans can be proud of. That I can be proud of and I am sure it will because I believe in the players."
