When Toby Collyer could complete Hull City loan switch as club boss confirms positive talks

A timeline has been revealed for Manchester United midfielder Toby Collyer to seal a loan move to Hull City, with club boss Sergej Jakirovic confirming that he wants to join them.

Collyer moved to West Bromwich Albion on loan during the summer transfer window in search of regular playing time after United failed to qualify for Europe.

However, his time at the Hawthorns didn’t quite go as planned. Collyer found it hard to sustain a run of games and performances due to injuries. He was limited to just 12 Championship appearances, providing a single assist in that period.

Collyer picked up a fresh setback in late November, which proved to be the final straw for United, who recalled him from loan. He has been recovering at Carrington since.

A recent report covered by The Peoples Person relayed that Collyer is closing in on a return from injury.

United are keen on sending him back out on loan. Hull have emerged as contenders to snap him up, having missed out on the chance to sign him last summer.

Hull Live have given an update on the situation, indicating that Collyer wants to join the Tigers and he could get his wish as soon as next week!

According to the news outlet, Hull are hopeful Collyer will be at Deepdale on Tuesday to meet his new teammates when they take on Preston North End. He is not expected to feature in the game.

The report notes that Collyer’s move to Hull has been slowed down by Ruben Amorim’s sacking and Michael Carrick’s appointment as interim head coach, but there is optimism it will be wrapped up “in the next few days.” Amorim once claimed that Collyer was ahead of Casemiro in the pecking order.

Jakirovic said about the situation, “We must wait for Man United for sure, but Toby wants to come. This is good. It’s always good when players want to come.”

“We’ve spoken twice with Toby, and everything’s good from us and from our side. It’s good for Toby’s side; now it’s Man United’s decision. Saturday, no, but maybe Preston if he will come, of course.”

Meanwhile, United are also in action on Saturday when they host derby rivals Manchester City.
