Leeds United have signed Facundo Buonanotte from Brighton at the second time of asking.

The Argentina midfielder was due to fly to Leeds in August only to make a late U-turn after Chelsea stepped in at the last minute to sign him. However, with his game time limited, Leeds asked again and the 21-year-old has cut short his loan at Chelsea to move to Elland Road on a loan with option to buy.

'I really wanted to come to Leeds instead of anywhere else. The time was right for me to come here to Leeds,' he told LUTV.

'First, I want to help Leeds. I need to do a good job here. And then, of course, if I have a chance to go to the World Cup, obviously I want to go.'

Chelsea are ready to add a new centre back this month and have checked on Rennes defender Jeremy Jacquet and Jacobo Ramon at Como.
