The 5 potential suitors to succeed Liam Rosenior at Chelsea have been released

Liam Rosenior's future at Chelsea has been thrown into doubt after the club's torrid Premier League form continued last night after losing to Brighton & Hove Albion 3-0 at the American Express Stadium . The defeat means Rosenior has watched his side lose five consecutive league matches all while registering zero goals in the process.
It has been a headache for the former Brighton defender, who last saw his side win a match against League One relegation fodder Port Vale 7-0 in an FA Cup quarter-final mismatch, with their last league win coming from a trip to fellow Champions League hopefuls Aston Villa at Villa Park with a convincing performance and a 4-1 win.
After such a strong start to life at Stamford Bridge, the tables have fully turned round as Rosenior has struggled to maintain the fine start he had with the likes of Estevao, Joao Pedro and Cole Palmer out injured in recent weeks meaning his preferred attacking line-up is nowhere to be seen.
The latest defeat has seen the likes of Trevoh Chalobah openly disagree with Rosenior post-match after a public scathing on his players for the performance they put in and now there is talk of who could possibly replace the head coach who they brought to succeed Enzo Maresca .
The bookies have now placed the former Derby County coach as the favourite to lead Chelsea at the start of next season the pricing is not as convincing as some may think. Right now, William Hill have Rosenior at 2/1 to lead the side but the likes of Cesc Fabregas - who is doing wonders at Como - and Filipe Luis - who is available as a free agent - are both priced at 5/1 to lead the Blues next season and succeed Rosenior.
William Hill's Lee Phelps, said: “Another desperate defeat for Liam Rosenior has intensified debate of who will be in charge of Chelsea next season, with Cesc Fabregas now a leading candidate for the job. We go 5/1 for the Spaniard to return to Stamford Bridge and be in charge of the Blues for the start of next season, with Filipe Luis (5/1) likewise a big contender.
“Rosenior leads the market at 2/1 for now, but expect that price to rise if results don’t change soon.”
Fabregas is the current head coach at Serie A side Como having guided them to promotion and now flirting with the chance of a possible Champions League push sitting just five points behind Juventus in fourth-place. Since their promotion, Fabregas guided the club to 10th in their first top-tier campaign since the 2002/03 season and now find them possibly qualifying for Europe for the first time in the club's history.
According to reports last month, Filipe Luis was in talks for the Chelsea job after impressing bosses with Flamengo. Luis, 40, played for the Blues for one season 11 years ago before returning to Atletico Madrid then moving to Flamengo in 2019 where he played for four years. In September 2024, he was appointed manager at the Brazilian club where he went on to win the Copa Libertadores and Brasileiro Serie A before he was sacked last month.
