Spurs lead, Liverpool languish: The definitive Premier League set-piece rankings
Arsenal have earned rave reviews for their set-piece threat in recent seasons, and the Gunners were at it again on Wednesday night.
Ben White opened the scoring in their Carabao Cup semi-final at Chelsea , as the hosts failed to deal with a dangerous ball into the box.
Arsenal are no doubt excellent at scoring from such situations, but when discussing a team's dead-ball expertise, the focus tends to be on attacking output.
Perhaps a fairer gauge would be set-piece difference; the difference between set-piece goals scored and conceded. After all, defending set-pieces is just as important.
So, who really is the Premier League 's best set-piece team?
Unsurprisingly, Arsenal feature highly, but the Premier League leaders are not the set-piece kings when it comes to difference.
Their +7 difference for set-piece goals is the second-highest in the division, behind North London rivals Tottenham Hotspur (+8). Thomas Frank has faced criticism this season, but he has Spurs well-drilled when it comes to set pieces.
At the other end of the scale, Liverpool are by far the league's worst team. The champions have scored the joint-lowest goals from set pieces (3), alongside 20th-placed Wolves , and have conceded the second-highest amount (13), behind Bournemouth .
Those issues have seen Liverpool post a set-piece difference of -10 for the 2025-26 campaign to date.
West Ham (-7), Nottingham Forest (-6), and Crystal Palace (-5) also have plenty of room for improvement.
Brentford 's appointment of former set-piece coach Keith Andrews as manager in the summer has paid dividends defensively.
Their three goals conceded from set pieces is the joint-best record in the division. However, the Bees have scored just five goals from set pieces.
Interestingly, two teams have broken even when it comes to set-piece goals for and against: Manchester City and Fulham .
20. Liverpool : -10 (3/13)
19. West Ham : -7 (6/13)
18. Nottingham Forest : -6 (5/11)
17. Crystal Palace : -5 (7/12)
12. Fulham : 0 (7/7)
8. Everton : +2 (7/5)
7. Manchester United : +2 (11/9)
4. Chelsea : +3 (12/9)
3. Leeds: +3 (12/9)
2. Arsenal : +7 (12/5)
