🤩 Real Madrid starlet scores first La Liga goal in Real Betis clash

Real Madrid are off to an excellent start to the new year after taking an early lead in their La Liga return against Real Betis .

The opening goal marks an even better start to 2026 for Real Madrid's Gonzalo García , who has opened his goalscoring account in the Spanish top flight.

Following a breakout 2025 in which the 21-year-old was awarded the FIFA Club World Cup Golden Boot, scoring four goals in six matches, García was given a rare start by Xabi Alonso after Kylian Mbappé was unavailable due to injury.

García certainly validated Alonso's decision 20 minutes into the match, when the youngster peeled away from his defender to score an unmarked header at the back-post, thanks to an excellent free-kick delivery from an in-form Rodrygo .
