Mohamed Salah injury update as Liverpool confirm if he'll play for club again

Mohamed Salah is expected to play for Liverpool again, the club have confirmed, following fears that he had suffered a season-ending injury. The Reds moved to ease worries over a dream farewell for the Egyptian after the 33-year-old was forced off against Crystal Palace with a hamstring injury.

With under a month remaining in the Premier League season and four matches remaining, pictures of the Egyptian trudging off and soaking up the adulation of the Anfield crowd sparked fears that his season and Liverpool career was over. Salah will leave Liverpool at the end of the season, a year into a two-year deal, after reaching an agreement with the club to let him leave on a free transfer in the summer.

The L4 icon hasn't lived up to his high standards this term as Arne Slot's side endured a poor Premier League title defence, finding themselves battling for Champions League , 12 months on from romping back to the summit of English football. Thanks to Salah's contributions last term, the Dutchman earned a winners' medal in his debut season, but friction emerged after the star forward found himself out of the squad, leading to incendiary comments in December.

In a statement, Liverpool wrote: "Liverpool FC can confirm Mohamed Salah is expected to be available to play again before the end of this season.

"The No.11 was substituted during the second half of last Saturday’s Premier League win over Crystal Palace at Anfield.

"The issue that caused his withdrawal has now been confirmed as a minor muscle injury.

"It is, however, anticipated Salah will return to action ahead of 2025-26’s conclusion and his departure from the Reds this summer."
