Marc Skinner pinpoints one crucial thing Man United must get right to crush Arsenal
Manchester United head coach Marc Skinner has identified the make-or-break element to toppling Arsenal at the Emirates this weekend.
United are poised to kick off 2026 with a mouth-watering fixture against Arsenal. Heading into the meeting, United lie a point below Arsenal in the WSL standings.
Skinner and his players will undoubtedly be aiming to quickly shake off their pre-break wobble and return to winning ways.
More than just the three points, a victory over Arsenal would signal United’s ambitions and could galvanise the team’s push for success in the final stretch of the season.
Skinner spoke to reporters and revealed that the game will be won by whichever club seizes the moment and rises up to the occasion.
The United boss remarked [as quoted by SheKicks ], “It’s always who can take the big moments.”
“We’re going to maximise what we can. We’ve got to play our game effectively as what we’re really good at, but also understand that they can create magic moments and so can we.”
He added, “So it’s always one of them as a neutral, it’s exciting to watch, but I think we have to go into the game, focus, give absolutely everything and with the quality we have, we can create chances to win the game with, no doubt about that.”
The Arsenal game will mark Skinner’s 100th in the WSL.
The 42-year-old insisted that he still relishes the challenge of managing United on the big stage.
“I’m not done yet!”
“If you’d have said to me, would I have been manager of Man United for four and a half [years], fifth season – you never know you’re going to get that long in football, right? We live in a different world now.”
“I think it’s an honour for me and obviously my family to lead a fantastic group of fans and a fantastic club.”
“But I’m not done yet: I’ve got much more I want to achieve. So it only makes it stronger in my will to win and I want to lead this club into even creating more history.”
United vs. Arsenal kicks off at 12.30 pm.
