Robert Sanchez and Marc Cucurella are back in training and in contention to return for Chelsea ’s Premier League clash with Fulham .

Sanchez missed his first league match of the season against Manchester City last weekend after picking up a minor muscle injury in the build-up to Sunday’s clash.

Cucurella, meanwhile, has missed the last two games due to a thigh injury he sustained in the 2-1 defeat to Aston Villa before the New Year.

However, both have now returned to first-team training and could feature in Wednesday’s west London derby, according to interim head coach Calum MacFarlane.

‘They’re all training today. We’ve got training in a few hours, so they’ll be taking part in the session today,’ MacFarlane said in Tuesday’s pre-match press conference.

‘We’ll have a lot better idea after the session. At this point none of the players are ruled out.

‘So we’ll look at training, see how they look, and make a call after that.’

Wesley Fofana also missed Sunday’s visit to the Etihad Stadium with an illness, but MacFarlane is hopeful that the French defender will be available against Fulham.

‘He’s going to be checked when he comes in, they’re reporting shortly so he’ll be checked when he comes in,’ he added.

Chelsea will also be able to call upon Moises Caicedo’s services again, after the Ecuadorian midfielder served his one-match suspension at the weekend.

While the Blues have confirmed the appointment of Liam Rosenior as Enzo Maresca’s permanent replacement , MacFarlane will still be on the touchline against Fulham, with the former Strasbourg head coach set to watch from the stands.

Asked about the appointment of Rosenior, the current Chelsea intermin head coach said: ‘I spoke to Liam briefly last night. He’s obviously really excited about taking the role.

‘My understanding is he’s going to be at Cobham later on today at some point. So, I’m sure I’ll catch up with him more on that.

‘[I] really enjoy watching his sides, like I did with Hull as well. Aggressive, front-foot football, really good on the ball, good positional play concepts. So really excited to see the work he’s going to do at this club.’
