Manchester City will not meet Crystal Palace’s £35m asking price for Marc Guehi

Manchester City are determined to sign Crystal Palace star Marc Guehi in the winter transfer window .

They are prepared to make an offer for the 25-year-old but will not meet Palace’s £35 million valuation for the defender, per journalist Alex Crook .

Pep Guardiola’s side are desperate for defensive reinforcements this month after injuries to Ruben Dias and Josko Gvardiol.

Guehi is one of the best options available in the January market. He is young, boasts exceptional ball playing ability and excels in duels.

The centre-back has started 20 Premier League matches this season, with five direct goal contributions to his name.

But despite his quality, City are still not ready to spend £35m for the player who can be signed for nothing at the end of the season.

Liverpool came close to landing Guehi’s services last summer before Palace blocked the move on deadline day.

The Reds are still keen on him but a January move is unlikely following their £446m summer spending spree.

Real Madrid, Barcelona, Bayern Munich, Arsenal and Liverpool are also interested in the England international .

Guehi was disappointed his move to Anfield didn’t materialise, but he is said to be relaxed about his current situation at Palace.

The centre-back is happy with the consistent game time he receives at Selhurst Park, giving him a strong chance to start for England at the 2026 World Cup.
