Manchester City have rejected Barcelona’s opening bid of around £40 million for Spanish midfielder Rodri.
The Daily Mail report that City want more than £60 million before they consider selling the Ballon D’Or-winning midfielder.
The 30-year-old has less than a year remaining on his contract at the Etihad, and is not expected to extend his deal. Barcelona’s offer comes after it was revealed that Spain’s World Cup-winning captain prefers a move to the Nou Camp over rivals Real Madrid.

Meanwhile, City are said to be advancing on a defensive midfield signing of their own. Enzo Maresca’s side are on the verge of completing a deal with Lille for Ayyoub Bouaddi, according to Fabrizio Romano.
The 18-year-old impressed with Morocco at the World Cup and is expected to cost around £80 million. However, it is understood that the club do not view him as a replacement for Rodri.
Meanwhile, The Independent say City are also exploring a deal for Chelsea midfielder Enzo Fernandez, with Maresca reportedly keen on a reunion with the Argentine.
