The transfer window has been open for almost a week, and deals are still ripe to be made across the Premier League . Liverpool are yet to make their first move, but it appears to be coming closer.

The names of Marc Guehi and Antoine Semenyo have dominated headlines for potentially significant switches. The Reds look to have lost out on the latter to Manchester City , who are set to pay his £65million release clause.

Semenyo has not yet left the Cherries, however. Any delay will eventually prompt speculation.

Liverpool will hope that City do not prove to be the spoilers in a deal for Guehi . The Crystal Palace star has been linked with a move to join Pep Guardiola's side, after seeing his transfer to Anfield fall through on transfer deadline day in the summer, with City suffering from a number of injuries in defence.

With that said, Mirror Football takes a look at some of the biggest transfer news surrounding Merseyside.

Liverpool are in talks over a deal to sign teenage defender Mor Ndiaye. The 18-year-old plays for Senegalese second-tier side Amitie FC, who are owned by former Newcastle United and Chelsea striker Demba Ba.

Ndiaye put in impressive displays at the Under-17s World Cup in Qatar and started all four games of Senegal's matches before they were eliminated by Uganda at the round of 32 stage.

Ndiaye is expected to join Liverpool 's Under-21s squad if a deal is completed and help bolster the Reds' defensive options at youth level. His arrival would somewhat offset the fact that Wellity Lucky is a regular fixture in the senior squad.

Pep Guardiola has played down the prospect of being as busy in the January transfer window as last year, as speculation mounts over a move for Crystal Palace star Marc Guehi.

Only 12 months ago, Manchester City signed Omar Marmoush, Nico Gonzalez, Vitor Reis and Abdukodir Khusanov. But it is now said the Premier League side want to move early to land Guehi, who is out of contract in the summer.

The England international saw a move to Liverpool collapse in the summer and has since seen interest from Bayern Munich and Barcelona . Guardiola's words do not rule out a move this month.

"Maybe we will get something, but it's completely different [to last year]," Guardiola said ahead of Manchester City hosting Brighton in the Premier League.

"We are not going to buy four or five players like happened last season to be the [highest] net spend in this country. We are not, but apparently always we are."

Sky has slashed the price of its Essential TV and Sky Sports bundle ahead of the 2025/26 season, saving members £192 and offering more than 1,400 live matches across the Premier League, EFL and more.
