Ousmane Diomande's move to Nottingham Forest has hit a major snag with the deal now far from certain.
Forest had been close to agreeing a fee of about £35m with Sporting Lisbon for the centre-back but Daily Mail Sport understands talks have hit the buffers.
Oliver Glasner had made the centre-back his top target - as he did at Crystal Palace last summer, which also proved unsuccessful.

West Ham have confirmed the signing of former Brighton defender Joel Veltman.
The Dutch defender has signed a one-year contract with an option for a second year.
