Ayden Heaven believes Manchester United could 'possibly push' to claim the Premier League title this season following their Boxing Day triumph over Newcastle United . Heaven earned man of the match honours for his display at Old Trafford after helping the Red Devils secure a clean sheet in their victory against the Magpies.

The result lifted his team to fifth place in the table, sitting ten points adrift of table-toppers Arsenal , who have a game in hand against Brighton & Hove Albion on Saturday. Speaking to Sky Sports as the man of the match winner, Heaven outlined the club's lofty aspirations.

The 19-year-old said: "It was [big]- finally a clean sheet. We've been waiting for this for a couple of weeks. I'm just so happy. I'm so thankful for everyone who helped us [win].

"As Manchester United, we belong in Europe, and we want to get back there next season. We can push for the top four, possibly push for the league; anything is possible. We are just going to keep trying.

"The manager, we play loads of formations with him, whatever he does, we know it's going to work, you saw today. I'm so proud of the team."

However, Roy Keane has suggested United are not quite prepared to challenge for the title. The club's former skipper said during Sky's match coverage: "[Heaven] mentioned there about winning titles - they're not quite ready for that, but you have to start somewhere."

Heaven has previously voiced his confidence that United will return to UEFA competitions next season. Following their 4-1 triumph over Wolverhampton Wanderers in early December, he said: "I don't think anyone can stop us when we play like this. We want to win as many games as possible. Hopefully we can be in Europe next season, which I think we'll do."

Ruben Amorim also weighed in on when United might next clinch the league title, ahead of their final match before Christmas against Aston Villa . His comments came in response to Sir Alex Ferguson saying to Press Box PR that it could take his former club a decade or more to secure their next title.

The current United head coach responded: "He understands football more, especially English football. I don't think we'll take that long to win the league.

"I don't know which manager will be here, but I truly believe we can fight for the title in the next years. It is not going to take so many years, but you never know.

"In leadership, it's the moment of the club; you have to fight all the fights. We are improving as a team.

"As a group, we are going to improve in these small things. That will make a difference even to suffer goals. If we are a different group, we will suffer less goals, but we are scoring more, so let's think about the positives."

Sky has slashed the price of its Essential TV and Sky Sports bundle ahead of the 2025/26 season, saving members £192 and offering more than 1,400 live matches across the Premier League, EFL and more.
