Arsenal could strengthen their squad in the January transfer window. Mikel Arteta revealed at the end of December that the Gunners are open to signing players this month - if their injury crisis doesn't subside.

They have a number of players out injured right now and Arteta is keen to ensure his squad isn't left threadbare heading into the tail end of the season. With that in mind, the Gunners have been linked with a number of players, in case they decide to dip into the market and splash the cash.

On the pitch, the Gunners face Liverpool in the Premier League on Thursday. They have won their last five top flight fixtures since the defeat at Aston Villa in December and sit six points clear at the top of the table.

Here is the latest Arsenal transfer news from the Emirates Stadium...

Arsenal are monitoring Yan Diomande ahead of a potential summer transfer. The 19-year-old forward is expected to depart RB Leipzig at the end of the season, after impressing in the Bundesliga this season.

However, according to The Athletic, a fee of £86million may be required to sign Diomande this summer. Leipzig have no intention of allowing the Ivory Coast international to leave during the January transfer window , and it will take a very large offer for them to consider a summer sale as he has until 2030 left on his contract.

Diomande signed for Leipzig in a £17.3million deal from Leganes back in July and has since starred in the German top-tier, scoring six goals and grabbing three assists in 14 appearances this season. He is among the most sought-after young players in Europe right now, with Manchester United and Tottenham among the others linked with a move.

Arsenal are working on a deal to sign Blackburn Rovers forward Igor Tyjon, according to the Sun . The 17-year-old has been on the club's radar for some time, including in the summer, but they are now prepared to get a move signed and sealed in January.

Tyjon, who has made three senior appearances for Blackburn, has rejected a professional contract from the Championship club. No fee has been agreed yet but it's considered as 'one to watch' this month.
