Arsenal agree new long-term contract with Bukayo Saka

Arsenal have reached an agreement with Bukayo Saka over a new long-term contract.

The North London side have been in negotiations with Saka’s representatives in a bid to tie down the winger. An agreement has now been reached on a new, improved, five-year deal for Saka, to reflect his rise at the Emirates. The Athletic are reporting the deal will run until 2031.

Saka’s new contract follows good work from the Arsenal board in securing the long-term future of key assets. Central defensive pairing William Saliba and Gabriel Maghalaes have signed new deals in recent months, alongside academy duo Myles Lewis-Skelly and Ethan Nwaneri.

Saka’s deal is perhaps the most important of the lot, with the 24-year-old having become the poster boy of Mikel Arteta’s side. The winger progressed through the Hale End academy and has since evolved into one of Europe’s most effective wide players.

Saka has made 217 Premier League appearances for the Gunners, in which he has scored 57 goals and provided 48 assists. He’s also captained the side in the absence of Martin Odegaard.

At international level, Saka will be a key part of England’s challenge at the 2026 World Cup. He has scored 14 times in 48 caps for the Three Lions at senior level.
